Yes, someone with celiac disease can touch gluten. Gluten is not absorbed through the skin. Tinsley, however, does recommend being cautious when using cleaning products, lotions, lip balms, or other products that come into contact with your skin.  It’s very easy to put gluten containing lotion on your hands and then touch your gluten free lunch and create a reaction.  Most celiacs are not this sensitive, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.  Tinsley uses all g-free body, make-up, skincare, and cleaning products just to be on the safe side.  If you have to prepare gluten-full meals for someone, just wash your hands well before eating your own gluten-free food.  So, in short, someone with celiac disease can touch gluten and be fine!
